Traffic stop near Flatonia results in arrest

Staff and Wire Reports In a recent news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, information regarding a drug arrest was reported. On January 26, 2024, members of the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit initiated a stop on a vehicle in the Flatonia area for a traffic violation.
Michael McKim was back behind bars at Lavaca County Jail for the second time this month after the man he allegedly shot early Sunday, March 5, finally succumbed to his injuries a week ago today. McKim paid his bail and was released on the $100,000 bond set for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge earlier this month. He remains in custody currently on the $500,000 bond set for the murder charge.

Shooting victim’s death prompts Flatonia man’s arrest for murder

The Flatonia postmaster was booked into Lavaca County Jail Wednesday for the second time this month, on the charge of murder this time around, the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release issued Thursday afternoon to social media.
