Briscoe Named Region III Principal of the Year

The Hallettsville Independent School District Board of Trustees met in a regular meeting Monday evening and recognized HHS principal Mason Briscoe for being named Region High School Principal of the Year.

Court approves interlocal agreement

Due to the normal Monday meeting falling on Columbus Day, a federal and county holiday, the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at its new starting time of 9 a.m.

Dry weather taking its toll

National Night Out Tuesday evening

The 4th annual National Night Out will take place Tuesday evening Oct. 7 at the Hallettsville City Park Soccer fields.Hosted by the Hallettsville Police Department, the event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. It marks the second year for the event to be held at the city park fields.

Voter registration deadline is Monday

New voters, or voters who need to update their registration due to a change of address have until Monday, Oct. 6 to register to vote in the November election.To register to vote in Texas, the individual must complete a paper application and return it to the county election office of their county.
