Due to Veterans Day falling on Monday, the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court held its regular meeting Tuesday morning and decided to continue with a burn ban for the county.

Next Saturday, November 23, the Shiner Junior Livestock Show will be holding its 12th annual Livestock Show at the Arthur Kaspar Pavilion. 39 exhibitors will be showing steers, swine, lambs, goats, rabbits, and broilers. The day will kick off at 7 a.m.with check-in of all animals.

Everyone is invited to Wied Hall on Sunday, November 24 for the 53rd Annual Cardinal Booster Club Turkey Shoot.  The event begins at 10 a.m.; Turkey Shoot sign-up begins at 9:30 a.m. A Kettle Fried Chicken Breast Dinner will be available from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Parishioners and friends of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner gathered on Saturday, November 9 for the 37th annual Strudel Bake. A grand total of 952 strudels were rolled out one by one and completed in a record time of five hours.

Veterans Day events in Moulton area

There are a couple of Veterans Day events happening around Moulton.On Sunday, Nov. 10, there will be a Veterans Day service in Praha at the cemetery near the church there. The assembly will start at 10:30 a.m. followed by a flyover at noon.
