White-tail deer hunting starts Saturday

The general white-tail deer hunting season begins Saturday with hunters throughout Lavaca County as well as the state taking part in hunting for that trophy buck.The hunting season actually began on Sept. 28 with archery-only hunting season and ends this Friday, Nov. 1.

Time to return to standard time

It’s that time of the year when clocks are moved back one hour to standard time and the afternoon daylight hours will darken a lot sooner.Early Sunday morning, the official change to standard time will take place at 2 a.m.

Early voting continues

In-person early voting continues through Friday with voting taking place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex Building.The Annex is located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.
