Martin Goetz

Martin Otto Goetz, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. 
He was born on September 14, 1944 to Henry E. and Ruby Goetz. Marty served his country in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He was stationed in Dover Delaware and did two Tours of Duty in Germany and Taiwan. Marty reached the rank of Tech Sargent by the time his service was honorably completed. Marty was extremely proud of his time spent in the Air Force.
After serving his country, Marty returned to Yoakum to work with his dad at Heinie Goetz Motor Company. When his dad passed away, Marty started his own business, Goetz Motor Company, buying and selling cars, antique car parts, tires and many other auto related items. His greatest joy was going to swap meets where he made new friends and spent time with old ones.
Marty was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Yoakum. 
Survivors include one daughter, Beth; sisters, Betty Kuenstler (Leonard) and Nancy Migl (George); brother, Henry Goetz (Vicky); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. and Ruby Goetz; brother, David Goetz; paternal grandparents, Henry Friederich Goetz and Annie Meyer Goetz; maternal grandparents, Alfred Walter Otto and Emma Wilhelmina Huth Otto; and aunt, Adeline Goetz. 
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 17 at the Shiner Cemetery, with Pastor Gilbert Mesa officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Shiner Lutheran Church
