Milton Marvin Mika

Milton Marvin Mika, 74, of Hallettsville, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12.  He was born in Hallettsville to Edward John Mika and Alma Haas Mika on June 10, 1950.Milton graduated from Yoakum High School in May 1969 and enlisted with the United States Army.

Barbara Sue Luksovsky

Barbara Sue Luksovsky passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024.  Everyone knew her in life as Suzy.  She was born on the family farm past Old Moulton to Zattie and Ida Johnson on July 31, 1940.  She grew up in town and spent the rest of her life in Moulton.

Evelyn Okruhlik

Evelyn Wotipka Okruhlik, 97, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024. She was born July 23, 1927, to Edward Wotipka and Augustine Trojacek Wotipka.Evelyn is survived by three daughters, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one brother.

Doris Petrosky

This is not a typical obituary because my mother, Doris Hagendorf Petrosky, was not a typical person. I will not say that my sister Christina Freeman, her husband Greg, sons Tyler and Gavin, and I are survivors, as if in a war.

Carolyn ‘Tootie’ Steinmann Hunter

Carolyn “Tootie” Steinmann Hunter, age 94, of Hallettsville passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. She was born on Aug.  7, 1930 in DeWitt County to Edwin and Erna Steinmann.

Eunice Joyce Sparks

Eunice Joyce Sparks, 81, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024 at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center.  She was born to Victor and Hermina (Firasek) Rybak on Oct. 11, 1942 at their home near Moravia, guided by the light held by her father.

Doris Hellen (Caro) Gilbreth

Doris Hellen (Caro) Gilbreth passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Doris was born and raised in Pensacola.  After graduating from Escambia High School, Doris left Pensacola to explore the world.

Victor Charles Vasek

Victor Charles Vasek, 80, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 25, 2024.  He was born in Hallettsville to Emanuel and Hermina Vasek on March 24, 1944.  On August 27, 1966, he married the love of his life, Lucille Helmcamp Vasek.

Rosalinda "Rosie" Rivera

Rosalinda “Rosie” Rivera, 63, of Yoakum, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024. She was born in Shiner, to Joe and Sylvia (Rosas) Rivera. Rosie was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. When Rosie graduated from High School, she began her first job at HEB in Yoakum.

Mildred A. Roznovsky

Mildred A. Roznovsky (Pospisil), 90, of Shiner, peacefully passed away and joined our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Shiner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 2, 1933, to her parents Annie Gast and Aurelius J. Pospisil in Praha, Texas.
