Robert James Heimann, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at his home in East Bernard, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 16, 1949, in New Braunfels, to the late Frank and Estelle Patek Heimann.

Wilma Anna (Wieting) Ducho passed peacefully unto God’s grace Thursday morning, May 30, 2024.  She was born July 25, 1935, to Alma (Flessner) Wieting and Willie Wieting, of Shiner.

Betty Sestak

Betty Jean Sestak, 81, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024.Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Darin Zumwalt officiating. Burial followed at Shiner Cemetery under the direction of Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.

Lois Hobbs Bradley

Lois Hobbs Bradley, 80, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024.  She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 8, 1943, to Roland and Lois Hobbs.  She married Harvey Gene Bradley.She is survived by four sons (one deceased); one daughter, and eight grandchildren.Visitation began at 9 a.

Mildred Matilda Grahmann

Mildred Matilda Grahmann, 95, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024.  She was born  0in Hallettsville on April 3, 1929, to Henry and Clara Bengsch Zappe.On Oct. 15, 1948, she married Sylvester J. Grahmann. They were devoted life partners for 66 years until Sylvester’s death in 2015.

William "Willie" Machicek

William “Willie” Alois Machicek, 86, of Shiner, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024.  He was born on January 19, 1938, in Lavaca County, to Joe L. and Agnes Mozisek Machicek.  He married Gladys Ann Kocian on October 27, 1962, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hungerford, TX.

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Hermes Stastny

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Hermes Stastny danced into heaven on May 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated  Monday, May 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hallettsville with Msgr. Jim Henke officiating.  The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11 a.m.

Emily Jean Fahrenthold McDonald Appelt

Emily Jean Fahrenthold McDonald Appelt, 91, of Hallettsville, Mama Jean to family and friends, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  She was born on Jan. 25, 1933, to William and  Epsy Fahrenthold of Hallettsville.  She was one of seven children.

Janet Elaine Reindl, 84, of Shiner, joined her heavenly family, Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born December 2, 1939 in Beeville to Albert and Irene (Mussman) Gregorcyk.Janet was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Don Zander

Don Zander, 77, of San Antonio, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1946 in Shiner, where he grew into a fine young man. After graduating from Shiner High School, Don attended the University of Texas at Austin.
