Florene Hybner, 81, joined her heavenly family Sunday, January 1, 2023. Visitation will be held at Shiner Funeral Home starting at 4 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, in Sts.

Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey

Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey was born Aug. 4, 1947  in Hallettsville, to Edgar and Millie (Elstner) Appelt. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Donna was a very talented person and love to quilt, knit, and paint. She always had many projects going.

Janie (Buzek) Wolf

Janie (Buzek) Wolf, 67, of Hallettsville, joined her heavenly family on Dec. 12, 2022, while at Houston Methodist Hospital after a short battle with cancer.  She was born July 23, 1955, in Hallettsville to Victor and Leona (Gerlich) Buzek.

Vernon Eugene Duty Sr.

Vernon Eugene Duty Sr., 75, of Hallettsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.  He was born on Aug. 11, 1947, to Robert B. and Charlotte Williford Duty, in Houston.  After high school he joined the Navy.

Susan Hohmann

Susan Arlene Short Hohmann, 66, a longtime resident of Wimberley, passed away on October 30, 2022 after a valiant struggle with heart failure. Funeral services were held on November 7, 2022 in Austin, with the Rev. Herb Beyer officiating.

Marie Caka

Marie Antonia Petru Caka, 91, of Shiner, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022. Visitation was held from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Sts.

Agnes Adamek

Agnes Jemelka Adamek, 87, of Yoakum, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born January 2, 1935 in Shiner to Rudolph and Agnes (Migl) Jemelka. She attended Green School and St. Ludmilla Catholic School. Agnes married Gilbert G. Adamek on July 14, 1952 at Sts.

Lawrence Jalufka

Lawrence Frank Jalufka, 80, of Yoakum, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was born July 17, 1942 in Shiner to Frank and Mary Pekar Jalufka. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a leather worker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking for his family.

Patricia Marie Najvar

Patricia Marie Najvar, 64, of Moulton, passed away on Friday Nov. 18, 2022.   Patricia was born Jan. 27, 1958 in Shiner, to Mary Okruhlik and Bohumir Kocurek. Patricia was a member of the Faith Family Church in Gonzales.

Jackie Jean Goetz

We are very sad to announce the passing of Jackie Jean Goetz on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 in Kingsland, where she moved her residence this past year to be with family. Jackie was born to Leo and Bertha Dwinelle in Fairport, Kansas on May 30, 1936. On Oct.  9, 1954, she married Donald Adair Goetz.
