Lawrence Jalufka

Lawrence Frank Jalufka, 80, of Yoakum, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was born July 17, 1942 in Shiner to Frank and Mary Pekar Jalufka. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a leather worker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking for his family.

Patricia Marie Najvar

Patricia Marie Najvar, 64, of Moulton, passed away on Friday Nov. 18, 2022.   Patricia was born Jan. 27, 1958 in Shiner, to Mary Okruhlik and Bohumir Kocurek. Patricia was a member of the Faith Family Church in Gonzales.

Jackie Jean Goetz

We are very sad to announce the passing of Jackie Jean Goetz on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 in Kingsland, where she moved her residence this past year to be with family. Jackie was born to Leo and Bertha Dwinelle in Fairport, Kansas on May 30, 1936. On Oct.  9, 1954, she married Donald Adair Goetz.

Lorene Windham

Lorene Windham, 89, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Cypress. She had been recently diagnosed with cancer. Visitation began at 5 p.m. and continued until 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home in Houston. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m.

Jane “Janie” Grant Eilers

Jane “Janie” Grant Eilers of Round Rock, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday Dec. 13, 2022. She was lovingly surrounded by her adoring family. Janie was born on Nov. 4, 1945 in Boston, Mass. to Dee and Terry Grant. At the age of six months, her family moved to Texas.

Linda Helen Konvicka

Linda Helen Konvicka passed away of natural causes at 5:45 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022 at Schulenburg at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 20 days. Linda was born on Oct. 24, 1929 in Moravia to August and Rosie (Barborak) Konvicka. She attended school at Moravia.

Laurine Muenster Krejci

Laurine Muenster Krejci passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022. Laurine was born on March 22, 1937 in Hallettsville. On Nov. 16, 1957, she married Milton Anton Krejci in Koerth. Laurine and Milton were very proud of their two sons, Darrell Joseph Krejci and Gary Wayne Krejci.

Phillip Wayne Rogers

Phillip Wayne Rogers, 70, of Hallettsville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022 in Weimar. He was born in Alice on March 30, 1952 to Homer V. Rogers and Myrtle (Winters) Rogers. He was a proud Boy Scout, band member, and Freer Buckaroo.

Dorothy Marie Zaruba

Dorothy Marie Zaruba, 85, of Hallettsville, was called home on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.   She was born on Nov.  16, 1937, to  Tom J. and Anna Cinadr Kanak, at their home in St. Mary’s.

Clinton Lee Cernik 

Clinton Lee Cernik passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, due to a truck accident near Eagle Lake.  He was born in Weimar on Jan. 8, 1957 to Georgie Mae and Marvin Cernik in the Moulton area.  He lived with his parents in Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan.
