Daniel Hobbins

Daniel Clifford “Dan” Hobbins, of Shiner, passed away peacefully at home the morning of September 26, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12 at Shiner Baptist Church, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.

Jason Avery Smothers

Jason Avery Smothers of Hallettsville, passed away at the age of 37 on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022.  He was born on March 13, 1985 in Houston, to Trudy and Ken Smothers. Jason grew up in Columbus, and never knew a stranger. He could light up any room with his million-dollar smile.

Ervin Charles Neskora

Ervin Charles Neskora, 96, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022. Ervin was born in Moravia, to Charles Neskora and Julie Neskora.  He was baptized at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia, and attended school at Moravia.

Joseph Kasper Gerlich

Joseph Kasper Gerlich, 83, of Hallettsville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022.  He was born Jan. 4, 1939 in Lavaca County to Joseph F. and Agnes (Navjar) Gerlich. Following his childhood on the Gerlich family farm, Joe married Frances and raised a family in Friendswood.

Randy Sitka

Randy Sitka, 62 of Tivoli, passed away Tuesday Nov. 1, 2022.  He was born June 24, 1960 in Hallettsville to Henry and Martha Sitka.  He work in Oilfield Sales and Services for 40 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors, especially spending time on the Guadalupe River.
