Charles “Ernest” New

Charles “Ernest” New peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the age of 89 on Tuesday, Sept.  13, 2022.  Ernest was born on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1932, in Speaks to Oscar “Buck” and Ada Cook New. Ernest graduated from Edna High School.

Georgie Cervenka

Georgie Cervenka was born on a farm in the central Texas community of Komensky on March 1, 1936 to August Cervenka and Viola Drozd Cervenka. She was welcomed by two brothers, Ben and Frank, an older sister, Edith, and was followed by her second sister, Bernice.

Alton William Balusek

Alton William Balusek of Garwood passed Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at the age of 84.  He was born Dec. 13, 1937 in Provident City to Emil and Lena Brownson Balusek.  He retired from Texas Gulf Sulphur in New Gulf, and was a lifelong, fourth generation rancher.

Arthur Etzler Sr.

Arthur Etzler Sr., 102, of Hallettsville, was called home to his heavenly reward on Sept. 17, 2022 again to be reunited with his loving wife of 74 years, RoseMary.   He was born July 2, 1920, in Hallettsville to Paul and Hedwig Leopold Etzler and attended Sacred Heart School in Hallettsville.

Edwin Kneifel

Edwin Louis Kneifel Sr., 96, of Pipe Creek, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022. The family will receive friends from 10 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary following at 10:30 a.m.

Rusty Tronicek

Kenneth “Rusty” Tronicek, Jr., 57, of Shiner, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 7, 2022, while guiding a hunt in Colorado at one of his favorite places, Cotton Mesa Ranch. He was born November 10, 1964, in Shiner to Kenneth and Judy (Greive) Tronicek.

Anita Barcak Etzler

Anita Barcak Etzler, 80, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.  She was born in Hallettsville on Feb. 5, 1942 to William and Evelyn Boehm Barcak.  Growing up Anita worked very hard on the family farm and learned at an early age the value of putting in a hard day’s work.
