Carol Edwards Chumchal, 79, of Shiner, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, following a lengthy struggle with cancer.

Alfred “Fred” Alvin Chumchal, 92, of Shiner, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at his home due to heart failure. He was born October 21, 1932 in Gonzales, to John Anton and Christina (Slovacek) Chumchal.

Royce D. Pilat

Royce Dwayne Pilat, 68, of Shiner, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025.He was born January 9, 1957 in Shiner, to Eugene and Dorothea Ehlers Pilat. He was in the construction business. Royce was a Bible student, studying biblical history and sharing the good news about Jesus with others using JW.

John Britsch

John James Britsch of Shiner, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in Shiner. John lived a faith-filled life, in servanthood and devotion to God and his family. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend to many.

Jene Dreyer

Jene Allan Dreyer, Sr. was born on May 4, 1929 in Dreyer, Texas to Clare (Malloch) and Edward Henry Dreyer.  He shed his earthly body on April 1, 2025 and went to his heavenly home to be with his bride and his Jesus.  He grew up on the family farm in Dreyer, Texas.

A.J. Cerny Jr.

Adolph Joseph (A.J.) Cerny, Jr., 81, of Shiner, was called home to be with Jesus, on Monday, March 17, 2025.  A.J. was born on February 22, 1944, in Shiner, to Adolph and Mary Cerny, and grew up with his siblings, Felix, Gene, and Michael.Adolph married Jeannette (Jan) Kral on July 27, 1968 at Sts.

Victor B. Caka

Victor Bernard Caka, 88, of Shiner, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1936, in Hochheim, to Jim and Ida Caka. Victor was a mechanic by working trade, but he was a man of many talents.

Georgia M. Schreiber

Georgia Marie Schreiber, 92, went to meet Jesus on Monday, February 17, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1933, in Shiner. She was a graduate of St. Ludmila’s Academy. She lived in Shiner until her marriage to Marvin Schreiber in 1953. Georgia was dedicated to her faith and to her church.

Edmund A. Caka

Edmund Arthur Caka, 96, of Shiner, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born September 1, 1928, in Shiner, to Jim Caka and Ida (Janak) Caka. Edmund was raised on the family farm and attended Michna school in the Vlastenec Community.

Jeanette G. Kocian

Jeanette Gayle Kocian, 80, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Jeanette was born on March 30, 1944, in Shiner to William and Nelda Etzel Gerum. She married Marvin Julius Kocian on November 8, 1969 in Moulton.
