ARLINGTON – The Sacred Heart Indians had defeated St. Paul 10-8 and 15-11 in district.But the Cardinals won when it counted, taking a 5-1 victory at UT-Arlington Friday in the TAPPS Division IV state semifinal game.Five Indian errors played a big part in the loss.St.

LB set school record for wins in sweep of Tigerettes

COLUMBUS – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas swept El Maton Tidehaven 12-2 and 15-1 Thursday and Friday in the regional quarterfinals.The LB set a school record for wins with 36, eclipsing the old record of 35 set in 2022.

Moulton softball: Kittens sweep Leakey, play Slocum in regional final

Moulton swept Leakey 7-3 and 3-2 in the regional semifinals last week in Poteet.The Kittens will continue their historical playoff run with a matchup against Slocum in the regional final.Game one will be today at 6 p.m. Game two will be Saturday at 4 and game three, if needed, will follow game two.

Indianettes: Queens of TAPPS Softball

ARLINGTON – In 2021, Haley Noska led the Indianettes to a TAPPS Division IV state championship.An injury prevented her from playing in the state tournament in 2022 and last year, the Indianettes were upset by St. Paul in the semifinals.

YHS Bulldog track wins co-state track and field championship

It was a great day for the Yoakum High School (YHS) track and field program May 2 at the UIL state meet.The Yoakum boys were co-state champions with Hallettsville with each team scoring 36 points.

Lady Squaws sweep Lady Bulldogs in second round

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs played Jourdanton in the area-round series, falling in two games to conclude the season.YOAKUM 2, JOURDANTON 13Olivia Fojt hit a home run, scored two runs, and had an RBI while Madilynn Steinmann got two hits, double and RBI.

St. Joseph School Tigers compete in area soccer games

The St. Joseph School (SJS) Tigers finished the 2024 soccer season with a record of six wins and three losses and outscored there opponents 30 goals to 15. Dominic Novak led the team with 15 goals.On April 16: Wiemar, SJS 3, St. Michael 0. Dominic Novak 2 goals, Trent Ferry 1.

Moulton girls track and field: Tinajero gets seventh in the 400

Abygail Tinajero came within 0.44 seconds of getting a medal at the UIL state track meet in Austin on Saturday.She finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.83 to place fourth while the third-place finisher, Hailee Garmer of Roby, was clocked at 59.39.
