The TAPPS 2024 Baseball V state champions Cardinals had several players pick up post-season honors.All-StateNate Boedeker and Ezekiel Rodriguez were chosen for First Team.Jack Leonard was selected for the Second Team.

Shiner softball: LC RETURN TO STATE AFTER 7-YEAR ABSENCE

Two straight frustrating season conclusions at the hands of the Weimar Lady Wildcats officially came to an end late last week.The Shiner softball team swept Weimar 7-3 and 8-2 to claim the Region IV-2A championship and qualify for the state tournament, which started on Tuesday of this week.

Moulton softball: Softball camp for youth players June 18-20

Moulton softball will hold the Youth Kitten’s Softball Camp June 18-20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Moulton Little League Softball/Baseball Field.The camp will be for players in grades 3-8 and will cover the fundamentals of hitting, base running, fielding and team play. Shirt and snacks are included.

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas will be headed back to Austin after sweeping Columbus 6-1 and 7-2 in home-and-home series in the Region IV-3A finals.The Lady Brahmas (40-2) met Grandview (31-3) today (Wednesday.

Yoakum High School (YHS) senior Zach Taylor will have a new place to play football come this fall. Taylor originally signed with Army in December but obtained a release from his national letter of intent.Recently, he visited the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.

Shiner baseball: Ganado beats Shiner in three games in RQ series

VICTORIA —  Shiner’s bid for a fourth-straight appearance at the state tournament came up short as they fell to Ganado 2-1 in the regional-quarterfinals series Thursday through Saturday at Riverside Stadium in Victoria.

Shiner track and field: Burns signs to run track at DBU

Hayleigh Burns has done a lot during her time as a member of the Shiner track and field team.This year, she ran the 1,600-meter relay, the 400, the 800 and competed in  pole vault. She was also an alternate on the 400 relay team at state.
