Taylor to become a Razorback
Yoakum High School (YHS) senior Zach Taylor will have a new place to play football come this fall. Taylor originally signed with Army in December but obtained a release from his national letter of intent.
Recently, he visited the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. and elected to sign with the Razorbacks as a scholarship wide receiver. This past season as Bulldog, Taylor played quarterback and was 90-of160 passing for 1,376 yards, and 15 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He had 91 rushes for 342 yards and six touchdowns with a long run of 76 yards. He ran 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash, ran the 100 in 10.44 and the 200 in 21.3. He ran a leg on Yoakum’s 400-relay team that won the Class 3A state title earlier this month. He ran a 10.25-second split. Taylor also ran a leg on the 800-relay that finished second in the state meet.
