Brahmas win three, Lose one in Yoakum tournament

YOAKUM – Hallettsville lost its final game of the Yoakum Tournament Saturday, 10-1, to La Vernia, a team they had beaten earlier in the tourney.The Bears’ Austin Lewis held the Brahmas to only four hits, two by Brock Bludau.

LB lose first game before coming back to win tournament

WEIMAR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas finished the Weimar Tournament with an 8-0 victory over the host Lady Cats Saturday night to win the championship to move to 16-2 on the season.Kaylie Olivarez (7-1) blanked Weimar with a one-hitter.

Indians edged by Tigers in 5th place game

Old high school teammates - Sacred Heart’s Mark Noska and Tidehaven’s Eddie Russell - met in the fifth place game of the Sacred Heart Booster Club Tournament Saturday.Tidehaven prevailed, 3-2, after scoring two runs in the top of the fifth inning.The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

SH wins inaugural tourney

The Sacred Heart Indianettes edged Houston St. Pius X, 4-3, to capture the championship of the inaugural SH Booster Club Tournament here Saturday evening.The teams were tied at 1-all prior to the Indianettes scoring three runs in the sixth inning, two coming on Ava Lackey’s home run.

Shiner softball: Lady Comanches softball go 2-for-3 at SH tourney

HALLETTSVILLE — The Lady Comanches softball team played in the Sacred Heart tournament, winning two games and losing one.Shiner 17, Brent. Christian 1Addy Siegel and Rylee Vancura each had two-run homers as the Lady Comanches started the tournament with a 17-1 win over Austin Brentwood Christian.

St. Paul baseball: Cardinals get win in Sacred Heart tournament

The St. Paul baseball team went 1-2 in the Sacred Heart Tournament last week.Schulenburg 9, SP 1It was rough start for the Cardinals in the tournament in their opening against Schulenburg. St. Paul got just one run on two hits and committed five errors on defense in a 9-1 loss.

St. Paul softball: Lady Cards go 2-2 at Schulenburg

 SCHULENBURG —  The Lady Cardinals opened the season by splitting four games in the Schulenburg Tournament.Snook 6, St. Paul 3Snook scored four runs in its first time at bat and held off St. Paul 6-3 Friday afternoon.
