St. Paul boys basketball: Cardinals hold of VFA 43-30

Late in the game against Faith Academy, St. Paul had a firm grasp with a 17-point lead. However, the Cougars were able to take advantage of some miscues and close the gap a little before eventually falling 43-30 Dec. 5 at St. Paul High. School. “It was good to get a win.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards rout Faith Academy with defense, energy

The St. Paul Lady Cards have two key ingredients that allows them be very competitive. Stellar defense and plenty of energy/intensity. Those were on display by the Lady Cards as they routed Victoria Faith Academy 55-11 at home on Dec. 5.

Shiner boys basketball: Comanches win three to place runner up at Katz Klassic

MOULTON — The Shiner Comanches went 3-1 in the Moulton Tournament and finished second. Carson Schuette and Jake Simper were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Moulton boys basketball: Katz win Katz Klassic Tournament

The Moulton Bobkatz performed well for the home crowd with a 3-1 record and first place in the Katz Klassic Tournament. Moulton and the Shiner Comanches each went 3-1 but Moulton won via head-to-head when they defeated Shiner on Saturday.

SJS Tigers 30, St. Rose Cardinals 44

The St. Joseph School (SJS) Tigers could not keep pace with the St. Rose Cardinals of Schulenburg. All 14 players from both teams produced points. From the five Tigers, Shooter Laqua scored 16, Ty Smith five, Dominic Novak four, Nick Adamek three, and Caden Werland two.

Bulldogs receive All-District honors

The Bulldogs had more than a dozen players receive All-District 12-3ADI Football Awards. X’Zavier Barnett, Zach Taylor, and Kenneth Long were named to the First Team Offense. Drake Deel, Ty Gordon, and Trae Cuellar received First Team Defense.

Lady Bulldogs take bronze at Marion Tournament

The Lady Bulldogs Varsity Basketball Team won four of five games last week in the Marion Tournament and placed third. Olivia Fojt was named to the AllTournament Team. YOAKUM 39, BLANCO 33 The Lady Bulldogs posted a 14-4 run in the fourth quarter, rallying to beat Blanco in the first game 39-33.
