Lady Bulldogs win at rival Gonzales

Jayana Phillips made 13 points and Destiny Rios had nine points as the Lady Bulldogs won at Gonzales 46-37 on Nov. 28. The Lady Bulldogs took a slight 9-7 lead at the end of the opening frame and 13-7 run gave them a 22-14 halftime advantage.

YHS Bulldogs win against Schulenburg Shorthorns 51-50

X’Zavier Barnett recorded 19 points and Zach Taylor netted 14 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 51-50 nailbitter Nov. 29 at Schulenburg. The Shorthorns led 14-9 after the first frame and a 15-9 Bulldog run gave them a small 24-23 advantage at the break.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards win season opener

St. Paul scored two dozen points and yielded one point in the first quarter of their 2023-24 opener against Faith Lutheran at home Nov. 28 for a 53-28 win. Faith Lutheran outscored St. Paul 7-6 in the second box for a St. Paul 30-8 halftime lead.

Lady Brahms 54, Flatonia 48

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Flatonia, 54-48, with some effort here Tuesday, November 28. Flatonia had a 24- 19 halftime lead in the turnover-infested contest prior to the LB out-scoring the Lady Bulldogs 18-12 in the third quarter and 17-12 in the fourth.

East Bernard 57, Brahmas 34

East Bernard’s Maddox Crist had himself a game in leading East Bernard to a 57-34 victory over Hallettsville here Tuesday, November 28. Crist knocked down 25 points with four treys as EB outscored Hallettsville 35-21 in the middle quarters with Crist scoring 19 of the points.

Indianettes compete in SJ tourney

VICTORIA – The Sacred Heart Indianettes competed in the Victoria St. Joseph Tournament over the weekend. The Indianettes lost to Edna Saturday, 66-41. SH trailed by 3 points at the half but scored just 13 points in the final two quarters. Ava Lackey was in double figures with 15 points.

Brahmas win two in AP

ARANSAS PASS – The Hallettsville Brahmas won two games in a good field of teams in the Aransas Pass Tournament over the weekend. The Brahmas (3-5) lost two games by one point and another by two. “We played some good people and gained plenty experience,” coach Brock Gerlich said.
