St. Paul baseball: State semifinalists Cards win awards

Several members of the Cardinals state semifinalists team received various post-season awards. All-District Infielder-pitcher Jackson Ulcak, catcher Fisher Davis, infielder Nate Boedeker and outfielder/pitcher Zeke Rodriguez received First Team honors.

Shiner baseball: Shiner into regional final with sweep of Mumford

LA GRANGE — The Shiner baseball team will advance to its third straight regional final after defeating Mumford 4-0 and 9-2 in the regional-semifinal series May 24 and 27 in La Grange. Shiner will play Johnson City in a best-of-three series in the regional final. Game one will be at 7 p.m.

Youth sports: Shiner 11U baseball gets 2nd in tourney

The Shiner Comanche 11U baseball team traveled to San Antonio May 6-7 and finished in second place at the TSBI Invitational Tournament.

Shiner softball: Weimar rallies to stop LC from advancing to state

After earning a close win over Weimar in the regional-final series opener last Thursday, Shiner came up short in both games on Saturday as Weimar rallied in both to win the series 2-1 to advance to the state title.

Shiner baseball: Comanches allow zero runs in sweep of Weimar

ALTAIR — The Shiner Comanches swept Weimar in the regional quarterfinals at Rice High School with solid pitching and defense, and late-game runs in both games. The Comanches won 7-0 on Thursday before completing the series in a 2-0 win on Saturday.
