Youth sports: Shiner 11U wins second tournament

The Shiner Comanche 11U Baseball Team traveled to San Antonio on April 2 to play in the TSBI Baseball tournament. The Comanches won their second tournament in a row winning the championship game by a score of 4-2.

St. Paul baseball:St. Paul blanks SMA 10-0 in six

The St. Paul Cardinals earned another run-rule victory over San Marcos Academy, dropping the Bears 10-0 in six April 4 at Shiner Starplex. The Cardinals went up 3-0 in the second frame but did not score again until the sixth where they got in four runs and then scored three in the sixth.

St. Paul softball: SH at SP game to be completed April 20

The game was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning because of weather. The game is scheduled to be completed on April 20 in Hallettsville, prior to the scheduled home game for the Indianettes.

Shiner girls golf: LC edge Flatonia for district title

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team won the district title last week at the district meet in Weimar, scoring 431 which also tied Flatonia. Shiner won in a sudden-death team playoff 25-26. Chelsea Whiddon scored a 104; Grace Migl had a 105; Megan Winkenwerder carded a 107.

St. Paul baseball:Cards smash Warriors

Fisher Davis went 3-for-3, scored a trio of runs, had three RBI and had a double in St. Paul’s 18-1 win at Bulverde Bracken Christian on Monday to improve to 3-0 in district. Jackson Ulcak got two hits, triple, double, run and four RBI.

Shiner softball:Lady Comanches get quicks wins vs Louise, Bloomington

The Lady Comanches softball team dominated both of its road district games last week. Shiner 27, Louise 1 The Lady Comanches scored a dozen runs in the top of the fourth to help deal a 27-1 loss to Louise.

Shiner track and field: Shiner gets double district championships

The Shiner track and field teams competed in the 28-2A meet April 4-5 in Ganado with both varsities taking the team championship. Event winners for the girls varsity was Jaleah Curtis in the 100-meter dash and the 400. Brinley Ramirez in 200, 300 hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

Yoakum baseball: Yoakum downs Raiders 14-1

Ty Gordon got four hits, scored four runs and brought in one run; Garrett Green got four hits, three runs, two RBI, and Sutton Pavliska got three hits, triple, double and five RBI in Yoakum’s 14-1 win over Rice Consolidated on April 4.
