St. Paul baseball: Cardinals win district game 9-1 against BBC

The St. Paul Cardinals play just four district games which makes a win big but also does not leave a ton of opportunities to correct things. St. Paul downed Bulverde Bracken 9-1 March 29 at Shiner Starplex with solid hitting, and pitching and defense that got the job done.

Shiner softball: Shiner beats Flatonia 13-0 to get back on win track

The Shiner softball team recovered from its two-game stall in district. The Lady Comanches downed rival Flatonia 13-0, allowing the Lady Bulldogs six hits while not giving up a run.

Girls soccer: girls soccer players win district awards

Several members of the Yoakum girls soccer team received All-District Awards. Cameron Williams was named Co-Defensive MVP. Gisela Martinez and Williams received First Team awards. Aubrie Jendrzey and Anna Ramirez earned Second Team honors.

Yoakum baseball: Yoakum loses close games to Tidehaven, Edna

Yoakum produced the hits but just not enough runs. The Bulldogs hosted Tidehaven in a district game, coming up short 8-5. “Every district game we play is going to be a good game,”  Bulldogs head coach Karl Saenz said.

Shiner boys golf: Shiner boys place second at Yorktown tournament

The Shiner boys golf team came in runner up at the Yorktown Invitational  on Monday with a team score of 348. Beck Bishop led the team, getting first place overall with a 79. Micah Carson carded an 80; Ryan Peterson registered a 93 and Jackson Welch had a 103.
