Shiner track and field:Shiner girls TF win Edna meet

The Shiner track and field teams competed in their first meet on Thursday at the Edna Cowboy Relays with the varsity girls earning first place and varsity boys placing top four. Varsity Girls The Lady Comanches won the meet with 129 points, one more than East Bernard. 100 — 1st, Jaleah Curtis, 13.

Shiner tennis: Home tournament results

The Shiner tennis team held its home tournament on Feb. 20. Varsity Girls Singles Jordan Munsch placed third. Girls Doubles Haley Patek and Julie Ivy placed second. Boys Singles Kyle Adamek earned first place, Dylan Cerny was second and Cade Murrile came in third place.

St. Paul baseball:Cardinals nine open season

St. Paul hardballers opened the season at Flatonia and went 1-2 in the Lockhart Tournament last week. Flatonia 9, St. Paul 2 Holding a 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the third, the Flatonia Bulldogs plated six more runs to down St. Paul 9-2 Feb.

Shiner baseball:Comanches place second in Columbus

The Shiner Comanches baseball went 3-1 in the Columbus Tournament and placed second. Shiner 10, Lexington 3 Carson Schuette, Landyn Pohler and Keenan Hailey all had a two-hit day at the plate as Shiner beat Lexington 10-3 in their tournament opener on Thursday.

Shiner softball:Lady Comanches split six games at LG tournament

LA GRANGE — The Shiner softball team played six games at the La Grange Tournament Thursday through Saturday going 3-for-3; splitting games on the first day, dropping two games on the second day and getting two wins on the last day.
