Moulton boys basketball: Rocksprings overcomes Katz 69-43 in area-round battle

SEGUIN — It just was not in the cards for the Moulton Bobkatz basketball team. Moulton took on Rocksprings in the area round Thursday at Seguin High School and the Angoras turned a close 29-23 halftime score into a 69-43 with a 40-20 scoring advantage in the second half. “Hats off to Rocksprings.

Shiner boys basketball: Thorndale ends Comanche season with 55-40 win in first round

CEDAR CREEK — Slowly, the Shiner Comanches boys basketball team is making progress on the right path. The Comanches battled Thorndale in the bi-district round Feb. 21 at Cedar Creek High School, coming up short 55-40 in their first playoff game since 2016.

The Shiner girls golf team finished third at the Columbus Tournament on Feb. 14. Other teams in the tournament were Yoakum, Ganado, Columbus, La Grange, Sealy and Burton. Grace Migl led Shiner with third place with 102; Chelsea Whiddon carded a 111.  Callie Chrismon booked a 114.

The Yoakum Lady Bulldogs soccer team picked up their first district win of the season with a 4-0 win over San Antonio Fox Tech Friday in Yoakum. Rubi Martinez netted two goals, Gisela Martinez added one goal and Yoakum got some help from Fox Tech when the Lady Buffaloes had an own goal.
