Moulton boys basketball: Bobkatz fall to rival Waelder 56-39

The Waelder Wildcats made the plays needed to win; the Moulton Bobkatz did not. Jaimes scored 16 points and Dudley had 10 points to lead Waelder to a 56-39 win over Moulton on Jan. 10. The leader for the Katz was Kaddin Tesch, who had a triple and netted 13 points.

Moulton girls basketball: Moulton defeats rival Waleder 60-12

With five triples and 20 points from Addison Simper, the Moulton Kittens downed Waelder 60-12 on Jan. 10. However, head coach Craig Barta feels there is room for improvement for the Kittens. “We did some good things but were sloppy at other times,” he said.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches defeat Flatonia in close game

The Shiner Lady Comanches remained unbeaten in district play after holding off a stout Flatonia team. Shiner endured seven total tres from the Lady ‘Dogs, led by Summer Sodek who had five and 222 total points, in a 48-41 Lady Comanche win.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner competes but falls to Flatonia

At times, the Comanches were running with top 10 Flatonia Bulldogs. But in the end, it was Flatonia who sustained consistent momentum to take down the Comanches 80-47 Friday night at Shiner High School. “We played with Flatonia in spurts,” Shiner head coach Jeff Akin said.

Yoakum girls soccer: Lady Bulldogs finish seventh in home tournament, beat Hallettsville

  The Lady Bulldogs soccer team opened the regular season with their inaugural home tournament last week, getting one win, two draws and two losses, finishing in seventh place. Yoakum 3, Hallettsville 0 The Lady ‘Dogs played Hallettsville in pool play and bracket play.

Moulton boys basketball: Katz rally to beat Shiner

Trenton Meisetschleager scored 15 points and Edgar Mendiola deposited 11 points to lead the Katz to a 44-41 comeback win at Shiner on Jan. 3. Shiner led 14-12 after the first quarter and outscored the Katz 10-6 in second box. Moulton went on a 13-10 run to trail by three at the end of the third.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cardinals rout Kerrville OLH

Trent Brown sank 17 points and Fisher Davis dropped in 11 points to lead St. Paul Cardinals to a 61-17 win at Kerrville Our Lady of the Hills on Saturday. St. Paul started hot with a 21-2 run in the first frame and remained hot with a 14-3 run in the second quarter for a big 35-5 halftime  lead.
