Yoakum football: Bulldogs face Hempstead this week

The Yoakum Bulldogs play their final regular-season away game with a trip to Hempstead this week. “We are looking forward to playing a team that is no in the top 10,” Yoakum head coach Bo Robinson said. The Bobcats have struggled this year so far with a 1-7 record and are 0-2 in district play.

Yoakum cross country: Martinez wins place at state meet

Following the regional meet, Yoakum will have one competitor at the state cross country meet. Boys The Yoakum boys came in No. 16 in the team standings at the Region IV-3A championships on Tuesday. Clayton Hlavac was No. 77 in 19 minutes, 5.52 seconds and had a pace of 6:10 a mile.
