Yoakum football: Bulldogs finish regular season at home to Hallettsville

The Yoakum Bulldogs close out the season at home with county rival Hallettsville Brahmas. With last week’s 41-6 win over Hempstead, Yoakum has wrapped up at least fourth place and a spot in the playoffs.

St. Paul cross country: Lady Cardinals come in third at state

The Lady Cardinals cross-country team won a Bronze medal at the state cross-country meet on Monday. St. Paul scored 79 points with Amarillo Ascension Academy coming second with 69 points and Spring Providence Classical taking the 2A title with 68 points.

Both Moulton girl and boys cross-country teams will be running in the state meet this year after each finished third at regionals. The boys did come close to going to state as a team in 2021 and worked hard to get past the hump this season.

The Lady Cardinals volleyball team returned to the court after a nine-day break with plenty of passion. St. Paul shut out San Marcos Hill Country in a playoff-warmup match 25-14, 25-21, 25-114 last Thursday at St. Paul High School, two days before the start of their postseason campaign.
