Lady Brahmas open district with two wins

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas opened defense of their District 25-AAA championship with two wins, the biggest in Yoakum Friday.Alaina Halata and Destiny Garza scored 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Brahmas to a 38-24 victory in a low-scoring affair.

St. Paul girls basketball: St. Paul girls improve in 87-8 thrashing of Runge

The St. Paul girls basketball team approached the Runge game on Dec. 10 needing to work on things that needed improvement including ball security, pace and shooting percentage.The Lady Cardinals were able to check all of the list in an 87-8 win.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards win Prairie Lea tournament

The Lady Cardinals won three games and first place in the Prairie Lea Feliz Navidad Tournament. Sloane Kocian, Kristin Cerny and Reese Chilek were all named to the All-Tournament team.St. Paul 41, San Marcos Hill Country 14Cerny scored 19 points and Kocian deposited another 14 points as St.

The 14u Sweet Digs played in the December Dash Volleyball Tournament this Dec 7-8  The ladies earned second place going 3-1.

The regional finalist St. Paul football team had several players win post-season awards.St. Paul had a final record of 5-7.All-StateSenior running back Sam Perez made First Team Offense.Senior lineman Brodey Biehunko was selected for Second Team Offense.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards hoops start with Runge win

The St. Paul Cardinals boys basketball team kicked off the season with a bang.The Cardinals hosted Runge Wildcats in head coach Steven Sprulin’s first game in charge and took an 88-22 win Dec. 10 at home.“We have some to work on and clean up.
