This place we call Texas is so full of amazing and forgotten locations that the historian and writer will never, in a lifetime, know them all. This happened to me recently when I came across a town that I had never heard of - Saluria, Texas.

Memories of Christmas probably weren’t all that great for Samuel Thomas “Booger Red” Privett. It was a planned Christmas celebration that caused his face to be permanently disfigured and the loss of sight in one eye.

Mistletoe may be a welcome holiday sight when hung over a doorway if a loved one is near. Still, it can be an unwelcome intruder when found in your trees, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horticulturist.
