New World Screwworm count continues to rise

Cases of the New World Screwworm (NWS) continue to rise, specifically located in counties in western Texas.The latest case was reported on June 12 in Sutton County, which has Sonora as its county seat.

Council bans game rooms in the City

The Hallettsville City Council approved a couple of ordinances at the Monday evening meeting.One of the ordinances approved would prohibit game rooms and amusement redemption machines, known commonly as eight-liners, within city limits.

Sweet Home ISD bond project makes strides with new construction project underway

Sweet Home ISD’s new construction project has reached another milestone, although weather conditions have delayed a planned foundation pour.The construction project is a new Elementary School wing which will include grades Pre-K to 5th Grade. A new cafeteria will also be in the wing as well.
