Donald “Donny” Wayne Butschek
Donald “Donny” Wayne Butschek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with love and support of his children and family.
A man of spirit, Donny embraced the end of his earthly journey just as he lived life—with courage, and a heart at peace. He was not afraid to meet his Maker in Heaven, and he passed away knowing he would soon reunite with the beloved family members who went before him.
Donny’s greatest treasure on his final days was his family. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than spending some time with his children. He was endlessly proud of his two children and grandchildren, loving nothing more than talking about them to anyone who would listen.
His final days were filled with warmth, anchored by the presence of his immediate family and uplifted by countless phone calls from his dear mother, siblings, cousins, all whose love brought him comfort.
A friend to all, Donny lived a life of hands-on generosity. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and worked as an ER nurse in Victoria county. He was the ultimate handyman, always ready to fix small machines, tend to a garden, or tackle a project.
He expressed his love through action, whether he was cooking for others, fishing in the Gulf or going for a long ride on his bike. He also enjoyed listening to music and watching old movies.
Donny always wished for his legacy to be a celebration of life rather than a mourning of death. His laughter, his willingness to help a neighbor, and his unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who were blessed to have known him.
He is survived by his two children, Blair Alexandria Butschek and Bryce Allan Butschek and his two grandchildren Memphis and Sawyer Wallace. He is also survived by his four siblings, Sandra Evans and husband John, Peggy Mueller and husband Robert, Glenn Butschek and wife Debbie and Laurie Kusak and her husband Gary. Also, Donny is survived by his dear mother, Susan Werner Butschek.
Donny was preceded in death by his father, Allan J. Butschek.
