Dorothy Kristynik

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Dorothy Kristynik on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Surrounded by her loving family, she entered into eternal rest.
Dorothy was born on November 11, 1935, in Moravia. She married the love of her life, Louis Kristynik, on April 21, 1953 in Shiner. The day before her passing, Dorothy and Louis would have celebrated 73 years of marriage-what a beautiful reunion that must be.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Dorothy’s life was rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys that bring people together.
Dorothy shared a special and unbreakable bond with her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her love was especially evident in the pride and devotion she had for her only son, Kenneth, who remained a constant source of joy in her life.
She found happiness in the lively rhythms of polka music, often filling her home with its cheerful sounds. Whether dancing, listening, or reminiscing, those melodies reflected her warm spirit and her love for music, especially when played by her son.
Dorothy worked at Moulton Products for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 75. Prior to that, she worked as a cashier at Pilat’s Store alongside her husband and later at Kloesel’s Steakhouse around the time it opened.
Nothing brought Dorothy more joy than her family. She adored each of them and treasured watching her family grow across generations. Her legacy of love will live on through them.
Dorothy will be deeply missed, but her love, faith, and joyful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who’ve known her.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Kenneth (Mary); granddaughters, Melanie (Shawn) Braun, Amy (Shane) Wallace, Ashley (Brent) Wilke, Sarah (Allen) Netardus, and Kendall (Travis) Brandt; nine great-grandchildren, with a tenth arriving in September; three great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; her parents, Julius and Marie Svetlik Heiman; and sister and brother-in-law, Georgie and Joe Okruhlik.
A rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church.
Pallbearers were Shane Wallace, Brent Wilke, Allen Netardus, Travis Brandt, Brian Wenske and Bradley Wenske.
Honorary pallbearers were her beloved great-grandchildren.
