Lillie Herman

Lillie Mae Svoboda Herman, of Shiner, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. 
She was born October 12, 1938, the youngest of four children, to Louis and Bozena (Svatek) Svoboda, in Shiner. She married Robert “Bob” Herman, Sr., on October 24, 1964. 
Lillie will be sorely missed and forever loved. 
Survived by daughter, Sheryl Ortiz (Daniel) and family of Victoria; sons, Robert G. Herman, Jr. (Lorna) and family, of Yoakum, Gerald Herman (Jennifer) and family of Shiner; sister, Bessie Sonntag; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Herman Sr.; her parents; sister, Viola Darilek and husband Leonard; brother, Joe Svoboda and wife Dorothy; and brother- in-law, Morgan Sonntag.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. 
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jacob Mendoza officiating.  
Burial will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
