Mary Migl, 93, of Hallettsville passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with her family at her bedside, after being given Last Rites.  She was an exceptional woman, with remarkable strength and unwavering faith.
On Oct. 5, 1930, Mary was born in Hallettsville to Reinhold Sr. and Mary Herbst Koenig. 
On June 26, 1977, she married Willie C. Migl at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, and they were blessed with 40 years of marriage. Willie passed away in 2017.  
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, American Business Women’s Association, Hermann Sons and the Czech Choir.
Mary attended Sacred Heart School, being Valedictorian of the first graduating class of 1948.  She worked for SW Bell in Houston for eight years.  
After returning to Hallettsville, she worked for Otto Goedecke, Inc. as a PBX operator for 10 years.  She began her banking career at First National Bank and ended her career with Wells Fargo.  She retired from Wells Fargo working into her 80’s.  She always had a cheerful smile on her face and a sweet, pleasant personality.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Darlene Appelt (Mike); son, Ron Pekar; two grandchildren, Steven Pekar and Tori Williams and four great-grandchildren, Grace, Makaya, Bethany and Michael Williams.
Mary was preceded in death by her, husband Willie; her parents; a son, James Jonathan Pekar; five brothers, Joe, Reinhold Jr., Lawrence, Marcus and Henry Koenig, and a sister, Frances Turk.
Visitation began at 9 a.m. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. followed by the celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Msgr. John Peters officiated. 
Burial followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Don Koenig, Chris Turk, Peyton Turk, Rob Koenig, Dennis Tousek and Sam Migl.  
Honorary pallbearers were Tori Williams and Steven Pekar.  
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church/School or a charity of donor’s choice.
