William “Willie” Alois Machicek, 86, of Shiner, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024.  He was born on January 19, 1938, in Lavaca County, to Joe L. and Agnes Mozisek Machicek.  He married Gladys Ann Kocian on October 27, 1962, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hungerford, TX.

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Hermes Stastny

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Hermes Stastny danced into heaven on May 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated  Monday, May 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hallettsville with Msgr. Jim Henke officiating.  The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11 a.m.

Emily Jean Fahrenthold McDonald Appelt

Emily Jean Fahrenthold McDonald Appelt, 91, of Hallettsville, Mama Jean to family and friends, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  She was born on Jan. 25, 1933, to William and  Epsy Fahrenthold of Hallettsville.  She was one of seven children.

Janet Elaine Reindl, 84, of Shiner, joined her heavenly family, Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born December 2, 1939 in Beeville to Albert and Irene (Mussman) Gregorcyk.Janet was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Don Zander, 77, of San Antonio, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1946 in Shiner, where he grew into a fine young man. After graduating from Shiner High School, Don attended the University of Texas at Austin.

Mildred Joan (Treptow) Cole of Hallettsville, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.  She was born Sept. 9, 1944, Hallettsville to William and Helen Treptow in Hallettsville.  She was married to Russell Cole who passed away in 2018.

Eleanor Agnes Malec Rothbauer, 102, of Hallettsville passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 with her family at her bedside, after being given her Last Rites. She was born on May 16, 1921 in Flint, Michigan to Walter and Anna Smisek Malec.

James Thibodeaux

James Thibodeaux, 93, a loving husband and father, peacefully passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones on his family farm in Shiner.   James, the sixth child of seven siblings, was born to Ellen Ledet and Caesar Tucker Thibodeaux in Port Arthur, TX, on May 15, 1930.
