John Joseph Trojcak, Jr., age 84, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born December 16, 1939, in Yoakum to the late Emma (Donnelly) and John Trojcak Sr. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Mary Evelyn Lickliter VanPelt, 84, of Hallettsville, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at DeTar Hospital in Victoria. She was born on June 11, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland to Lewis Bryant Lickliter and Mary Susan Noone.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Adela Siegel Filip of Moravia passed away of natural causes after a six-month illness, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 9:02 p.m. at Shady Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation in Moulton.  She attained the age of 87 years, 6 months and 2 days. She was a lifelong resident of Moravia. She was born on Sept.

Jerry James Micek

Jerry James Micek, 77, of Hallettsville was called home, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.  He was born in Lavaca County on Dec. 20, 1946, to Alfred and Elizabeth Brosch Micek. On June 18, 1973, he married Lita Mae Schlebach from Six Mile. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June.

Dorothy Marie Horton

Dorothy Marie Horton, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, due to complications of a stroke.  She was born Sept.  8, 1933, to Frank and Julia Haidusek Klimitchek at their home in Ezzell. She was the middle of seven children and the only girl.

Beverly Frances Wright Haas

Beverly Frances Wright Haas, 77, of Hallettsville, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was born in Waco on Dec. 8, 1946, to Ewell E. Wright and Jessie Muse Wright.After graduating from Lawton High School in Lawton, Okla., Beverly attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.

Harvey Alton Appelt

Harvey Alton Appelt, 85, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, March 1, 2024.  He was born in Lavaca County to Louis Jr. and Josephine (Haas) Appelt on Nov. 3, 1938.Harvey graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1957 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1963.

Oscar Nagelmueller, 75, of Hallettsville, sadly passed away on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born March 31, 1948, to Wally Bertha (Michaelis) Nagelmueller and Louis Nagelmueller Sr. He lived in Hallettsville and graduated from Sacred Heart High School.

Reynaldo Rivera Sr., 86, of Shiner, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Monday, March 4 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Odartey-Lamptey officiating.
