Shiner softball: Ramirez sees action in eight games for KU

Shiner 2025 graduate  and University of Kansas softball outfielder Brinley Ramirez saw action in eight games during her freshman 2026 softball season.
In the Feb. 8 in USF-Rawlings Invitational In Tampa, Fla., in the  4-2 loss to Michigan, Ramirez scored one run.
In the Feb. 12 10-4 win over Indiana State in the Fonseca Memorial Tournament also in Tampa, she struck out once on two at-bats.
In KU’s 11-0 win over DePaul on Feb. 14 in the tournament, Ramirez was walked once and had one RBI.
Later that day in a 12-0 win over Yale, she was 1-for-1 with two RBI
On Feb. 20 in a 9-1 win against Southern Indiana in the Joan Joyce Classic in Boca Raton, Fla., Ramirez was 1-for-1, one run scored and .500 average.
In the Wooo Pig Classic Tournament in Fayetteville, Ark., the Lady Jayhawks beat Boise State 4-1 and Ramirez was listed as a pinch runner but had no stats.
On Feb. 27 in the tournament, KU played Boise State again, winning 10-1 and she scored one run. 
Ramirez’s last action came March 1 in the tournament against Arkansas,  where she scored one run.
Her totals in hitting for the season: she went  2-for-4, three runs, three RBI, one walk and one strikeout. She had .500 batting average,  .600 on base and .500 slugging.
