Shiner sports: Shiner ISD wins post-season awards

    The Shiner ISD athletic program picked up a couple of major honors following the 2025-26 school year.
    Shiner was named the 2026 Class 2A Texas High School Athletic Directors Association Texas Cup Champions in the inaugural year for the award.
    Shiner also won The Texas Farm Bureau Lone Star Cup 2A 2026. 
    This is the sixth time Shiner has won the Lone Star Cup. Shiner’s other Lone Star Cup victories were in 2001, 2002, 2015 and 2021. Some of the highlights from the 2025-26 school year was the football team reaching its second straight state final, the volleyball team making the state semifinals for the second year in a row and the softball team earning its state-record eighth state championship.
