Brahma golf qualifies for state

VICTORIA – The Brahma golf team is headed to state after finishing second in the Class 3A Region IV Tournament at Victoria Country Club Monday and Tuesday, April 13-14.The Brahmas shot a team total of 689 – 337 the first 18 holes and 352 in the second round.

Indians tie for district title

The Indians had an up-and down week, defeating St. Paul 5-0 before losing to Bulverde Bracken Christian School on the road Thursday, 13-8.The Indians (14-8, 6-1) followed the pitching of Layne Sevcik in the 5-0 victory over St. Paul at the Shiner Starplex Wednesday, April 15.

LB Lose

ALTAIR – The Lady Brahmas lost to Columbus 9-7 in a playoff for the top seed in District 25-AAA Friday at Rice Consolidated High School.The LB saw an eleventh hour rally fall short after scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Hallettsville won its second District 25-3A championship in three years with a 5-3 victory over Vanderbilt Industrial here Friday night.Hudson Chenard pitched a complete game and had to throw 114 pitches to do so. Chenard struck our five and walked three.

Shiner golf: Comanches golf fourth at regionals; girls place fifth

The Shiner girls golf team had an overall score of 879 to place fifth at the regional meet April 15-16 in Corpus Christi. The Lady Comanches shot a 448 and 431.
