Moulton girls basketball:Kittens defeat Shiner, place second at PA tournament with three wins

SHINER — Araceli Vasquez hit two tres and scored 12 points while Audrey Swinford had nine points and one triple as the Kittens won handily at neighbor Shiner on Nov. 18 52-18,“It went well. We were able to push the ball and shot the ball in the first half,” Kittens head coach Craig Barta said.

Indians face defending State Champions

After a first round bye, the Sacred Hear Indians travel to Little River to play the defending state champion Dallas First Baptist Saints in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Academy High School Thursday.The Indians will try to avenge a 52-6 loss to the Saints last year.

LB split season-opening games

The Beeville Lady Trojans defeated the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas for the second year in a row in a foul-infested game here Friday night, 50-40.The referees about wore out their whistles with 42 foul shots taken in the game.The Lady Brahmas had more turnovers than a bakery (38) to Beeville’s 21.

Lions end Brahmas' Season

TOMBALL – The Hallettsville Brahmas fought a good fight in losing to the Franklin Eagles, 51-27, in a 3A, Division I bi-district game Thursday night.“Franklin was the number one team in the state and played like it,” Brahma head coach Levi Montgomery said.

Shiner football: Comanches to face Brackett in area round

The Shiner Comanches will face Brackett for the second year in a row in the area round at 7 p.m. Friday (tomorrow) at Eagle Stadium in Pleasanton.The Tigers come into the game at 6-4 and beat Burton 54-34 in the bi-district last week.Brackett is scoring 35.8 points a game and allowing 26.

Shiner volleyball: LC’s second straight trip to state semis ends in loss to Iola

ALTAIR — Shiner is headed to the state semifinals for the second year in a row after an intense regional finals match.The Lady Comanches made a way past the Burton Lady Panthers on Nov. 11 at Rice Consolidated High School in five sets, 26-24,23-25, 25-21, 14-25, 17-15.
