Moulton cross country: Varsity harriers run at McNeil meet

The Moulton varsity cross-country teams competed in the Round Round McNeil Invitational meet last week.Varsity Girls (1A-3A)The Kittens placed No. 42 with 1,067 points.Ava Olivarez was the top runner with No. 143 in 14 minutes, 18.7 seconds. Addisyn Greive was No. 242 in 15:26.

Cuero holds off Yoakum 42-28

The Yoakum High School Bulldogs traveled to Cuero last Friday night in a renewal of one of the state’s oldest continuous rivalries, The DeWitt County Showdown. The Bulldogs and Gobblers both entered the contest with identical 2-0 records.

Brahmas lose to state ranked Tigers

EL MATON – The Hallettsville Brahmas scored first before the Tidehaven Tigers came back to take a 35-7 victory Friday night.The Brahmas scored on the opening drive, going 65 yards in 10 plays with quarterback Wyatt Kram going in from the 1 and Lucas Hill kicked the extra point for a 7-0 Brahma lead.

Indians, Dowell secure first win, 33-8

After going scoreless in its first two games, Sacred Heart took out its frustrations on the Louise Hornets with a 33-8 victory here Friday night.The win was the first of the season and also the first for Rodney Dowell as Indian head coach.“It was a great game for us,” Dowell said.
