Lady Brahmas finish fourth

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas finished fourth in the Rice Invitational Tournament Thursday Friday and Saturday.In pool play on Thursday, the Lady Brahmas defeated Ganado (25- 10, 25-7) Navasota JV (25-23 23-25, 25-19) and La Grange 25-23, 23-25, 25-19).

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas began the season Aug. 12 and finally played their first home match here Tuesday, Aug. 26.The long wait turned out well as the Lady Brahmas defeated the Lady Apaches 3-1 (28-30, 25-23, 25-21, 25- 17) before a boisterous student body.The first set was one for the books.

Comanches justify State ranking

Shiner is good. Very good.The Comanches ended three years of frustration with a 39-7 victory over Hallettsville to end a three-game losing streak to the Brahmas here Friday night.Both the Comanche offense and defense were nothing short of sensational.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner gets five-set win over Cowgirls

The Shiner volleyball team had nerves at times against Edna but got the job done.Shiner beat the Cowgirls in five games (25-15, 19-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-12) in the first home match of the season on Aug. 26.
