LB, Brahmas third in District track and field meet

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had their best finish in ages at the District 15-AAA Track and Field Meet Wednesday and Thursday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.The Lady Brahmas and Br finished third in the meet.The LB had two double winners in Elizabeth Felcman and Danna Jansky.

Columbus edges LB, 3-1

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had a chance to take the District 25-AAA lead but fell to Columbus, 3-1 here Friday.The victory avenged a 3-0 loss to the LB March 11 in Columbus.Mia Post was the thorn in the side of Hallettsville with a threehitter and nine strikeouts with two bases on ball.

Brahmas double dip Tigers

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept another District 25-AAA opponent in Tidehaven last week.The Brahmas had just four hits with two of them counting the most in a 4-1 victory over the Tigers here Tuesday, April 1.The Brahmas (17-3, 8-0) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Indianettes take over sole possession of first place

Sacred Heart and St. Paul were toe-toe before the Indianettes scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to claim an 18-8 victory and take over sole possession of first place in TAPPS District 5, Division IV here Tuesday, April 1.

Shiner junior high track and field: Shiner JH girls track teams capture district championships

The Shiner junior high track teams competed in the district meet March 31 in Weimar with the 7th and 8th grade girls teams winning at least a share of the district championship.7th GirlsShiner won part of the district championship along with Weimar with each team scoring 214.5 points.

Shiner golf: Shiner girls, boys golf teams each win second place at district tournament

Both Shiner golf teams earned runner up at the district tournament March 31 at the Victoria Country Club.GirlsThe Shiner 1 team won second place in district to qualify for the regional meet with a team score of 447.Morgan Lenehan led the squad with a 103.

Shiner softball: LCs go 3-for-3 against Flatonia, BHS, Louise

After scoring seven runs in the first two innings, Shiner’s bats quieted down a little bit.They got louder later with another five runs in the fifth and sixth frames for an 12-2 win over Flatonia on March 31.

Shiner baseball: Comanches bats come alive in fourth inning to pound BHS

After scoring just two runs in the first three innings, Shiner got cooking in the fourth.The Comanches brought home 13 runs for a 15-0 win in four innings to complete the district-series sweep against Bloomington  April 1 at Green-Dickson Park.
