Annie Werner went 2-for-2 with a home run and one RBI while Addy Matias batted 1-for-2, home run and one RBI as the St. Paul Lady Cardinals fell in the season opener Feb. 25 at Shiner Starplex to San Antonio St. Mary’s Hall 6-3.

The Lady Comanches softball team won their district opener against Flatonia and went 5-1 in the Sacred Heart Tournament last week.Shiner 18, Flatonia 0Reagan Fluitt went 2-for-3, one home run, two total runs, a triple and four RBI to lead Shiner to an 18-0 win in three innings Feb.

Shiner went 1-1 against the Hallettsville teams and won the Sacred Heart Tournament in its first several games of the season.Shiner 6, Hallettsville Sacred Heart 1The Comanches turned in five runs in the bottom of the fourth to add to a 1-0 lead and eventually post a 6-1 win over the Indians Feb.

The Moulton track teams competed in the Flatonia Bulldog Invitational on Feb. 24 in the Varsity girls and boys divisions, and the junior varsity boys division.Moulton had a total of 20 top-three placings in the events.Varsity Girls100 — 3rd, Taylor Self, 14.41; 6th, Justice Bedford, 15.
