The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Rice Consolidated 3-2 on a windy, rainy night here Tuesday, Feb. 18.The LB were short four starters, but still found a way to win.Hallettsville jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half. The Lady Raiders, however, came back to tie the game.

Brahmas take twin bill from Goliad

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Goliad in a doubleheader here Monday night.The Brahmas (3-0) took the nightcap, 8-0, after brilliant pitching by Brock Bludau and Connor Kopecky.Bludau worked the first three innings and ceded one hit, walked two with five strikeouts.

Brahmas win season opener, 11-1

Hudson Chenard gave up no hits in three innings of work in the Hallettsville Brahmas’ 11-1 season-opening victory over Shiner here Tuesday, Feb. 18. The game was halted by rain in the fourth inning.Chenard faced the minimum of nine batters and recorded three strikeouts.

Bucs defeat Indians

SUGAR LAND – The Sacred Heart Indians’ season came to an end with an 89-32 loss to Galveston O’Connell in a TAPPS Division IV regional finals game at B.F. Terry High School Saturday.The Buccaneers took a 24-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and were never headed.

'Nettes succumb to BSJ

GIDDINGS – The Sacred Heart Indians had trouble scoring in the middle quarters in a 41-27 loss to Bryan St. Joseph, 41-27, Friday in the TAPPS Division regional finals Friday night.The Indianettes led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter behind 4 points by Mallory Mueller before things went south.

The Lady Comanches had three players win special awards in the 28-2A All-District Basketball awards.Senior Morgan Lenehan got Offensive Player of the Year; senior Callie Sevcik got Defensive Player of the Year. Junior Hailey Radicke got Co-6th Man Player of the Year.
