Hallettsville mayor election Saturday
Hallettsville city voters will go to the polls Saturday to decide who will occupy the mayor’s chair for the next term.
In Saturday’s election, incumbent mayor Alice Jo Summers is facing opposition from Gordon G. Clark.
Early voting ended Tuesday, April 29 and polls will be open Saturday for the general election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Eligible City of Hallettsville voters can cast their ballot at the Lavaca County Annex located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.
Regarding other city council seats up for election, incumbents Place 2 councilwoman Audrey Barrera and Place 5 councilman Billy Barrera are both unopposed.
The Hallettsville ISD has two positions up for election with incumbent Place 5 board member Brian Henneke unopposed as well as Jon Lamson the only candidate to apply for the Place 4 seat.
The current Place 4 board member, Justin Smith, chose not to run for re-election.
Due to no opposition in the trustee election, HISD cancelled its election.
The Lavaca Hospital District is not holding an election this year.
