Early voting starts in Republican Party primary run-off

Early voting in the Republican Party primary run-off will begin Monday, May 20 and go through Friday, May 24.

Lavaca County Republican Party voters can cast their vote early in-person at the Lavaca County Annex located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.

Voting hours for each day is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 28 with all 11 Lavaca County voting precincts open on that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lavaca County Republican voters will have two candidate races on the ballot with incumbent County sheriff Micah Harmon running against challenger Steven Greenwell.

With the Lavaca County Democrat Party having no opposition for sheriff, the win- ner of the county sheriff’s Republican Party primary will be uncontested in November.

Also on the ballot, A.J. Louderback and Jeff Bauknight will face off for the Republican Party nominee for Texas State Representative District 30.

The winner of state representative District 30 runoff will meet the Democrat Party nominee, Stephanie R. Bassham, in November.
