Brahmas go through District unscathed
Going through District 25-AAA undefeated is quite an accomplishment.
Hallettsville (23-2,12-0) swept Industrial last week 9-2 and 7-1.
In the 9-2 victory here Tuesday, April 22, starting and winning pitcher Konnor Kopecky tossed four shut-out innings and gave up two hits, walked two and fanned three.
Andrew George threw 2.1 innings and was relieved by Weston Loudon after running into trouble in the sixth inning when Industrial scored its two runs.
The Brahmas collected 10 hits including a solo home run by Jorian Wilson, his fifth of the season.
Brock Bludau, who had two hits, led off with a single and moved to second on a ground out by George. Following a walk and a pop out, Carter Blaha, who has come up with some clutch hits, drove a 3-2 pitch to right center for two RBI.
Preston Wagner led off the second inning with a bunt single and scored when Bludau hit a triple to right field.
Three more runs scored in the third inning for a 6-0 lead.
Run-scoring singles by Weston Loudon and Preston Wagner highlighted the inning.
Loudon chased home two runs in the fourth inning with a base hit to score Tanner Wagner and George.
Wilson tied into a 2-2 pitch that disappeared into the night over the right field fence for the final run.

Hudson Chenard was the starter and winning pitcher for the Brahmas in Vanderbilt Friday night.
Chenard (1-0) gave up the only Cobra run, four hits, walked three and struck out three.
Jorian Wilson worked the final two innings and ceded two walks with four strikeouts.
Industrial led 1-0 before Hallettsville scored two runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh.
The Brahmas had just six hits.
