75 attend first Brahma workout
Seventy-five (75) Hallettsville Brahmas reported for the first day of practice Monday evening. The numbers are up from 65 a year ago.
“We have a significant jump from last year numbers,” head coach Levi Montgomery said. “This year we will be able to field two subvarsity teams. This is a good indicator for the long-term health of the program.”
The Brahmas will have two speedy players in quarterback Michael Pegoda and wide out Colt Edmonds, both of whom were members of the state champion 4x100 relay team last spring.”
“A lot of positions are up for grabs,” Montgomery said. “ “Overall, we’re gonna have some quality players, but we will have to lean on some younger kids to contribute.
The Brahmas’ first scrimmage is Thursday, Aug. 14 at Marion.
Hallettsville will host Schulenburg and Giddings Thursday, Aug. 21.
