Brahmas defeat alumni, 8-2
The annual Brahma Alumni game wasn’t exactly one for the ages.
There were 11 walks issued and 6 batters hit by a pitch in the contest.
Despite playing on the losing team, Hunter Laqua was named the game’s MVP as selected by the 16 writers who were in attendance. It was the first time the MVP Award went to a player on the losing team.
Laqua buckled some knees with his curve ball and fanned 6. He gave up 3 runs (one unearned).
Brahmas scored first when Brock Bludau walked and came around on a double by Tanner Wagner. Hudson Chenard’s ground out scored Wagner.
Preston Wagner drove in a run in the fourth with a single.
Kyler Chovanetz and Aaron Alvarez had the Alumni’s only hits.
The Alumni won last year’s game, 18-11, in extra innings,
