Brahmas drop games to Edna, Columbus

The Hallettsville Brahmas are losing but it’s not because they are not trying.

The Brahmas lost two games in District 25-AAA last week to Edna and Columbus, the most recent a 69-57 loss the Cardinals Friday night.

The Brahmas had a 21- 11 lead at the end of the first quarter and trailed 34-30 at the half.

The lead was still four points going into the final 8 minutes before being outscored 23-12 for the final margin of victory.

Jorian Wilson and Shane Migura combined for 37 points but it all went for naught. Wilson recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

The Brahmas committed 17 turnovers to Columbus’ 9.

The Brahmas shot 39.0% from the field.

Wilson scored 19 points and Migura scored 18.

Edna 67, Brahmas 54

Braylen Harris scored 32 points to lead Edna to the 67-54 victory here Monday, Jan. 20.

Edna led 34-20 at the half before the Brahmas rallied with Jorian Wilson scoring 7 points and shrunk the Cowboys’ lead to 49- 42 going into the fourth quarter.

The Brahmas shot 37.5% from the field but were hampered by 24 turnovers. Edna made 39.6% of their field goal attempts.

Jafus Smith added 15 points for the Cowboys.

Wilson canned a careerhigh 26 points with 15 boards and was the only Brahma in double figures.
