Brahmas record first 25-AA victory

EL MATON – The Hallettsville Brahmas’ first District 25-AAA victory came at the expense of the Tidehaven Tigers, 60- 26, Friday night.

Three players scored in double figures as the Brahmas shot a red-hot 53.3% from the field and committed just 13 turnovers.

The Brahmas led 18- 10 at the end of the first quarter and 27-12 at the half.

Jack Amsden, Shane Migura and Jorian Wilson all scored 10 points for the Brahmas. Amsden recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Columbus 66, Brahmas 28

In Columbus’ first game of the season New Year’s Day, Grayson Rigdon poured in 36 points to lead the Cards to the easy win.

Ridgon, who signed to play football and basketball at University of Wyoming, buried 4 threes and made 16 of 18 foul shots.

The Cardinals opened the game with a 15-3 run with Rigdon scoring 7 points before scoring 8 points in the second quarter 8 in the third.

Jorian Wilson scored a career-high 21 points in defeat and had a doubledouble with 12 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.

The Brahmas turned the ball over 19 times while Columbus had 14 floor miscues.
